Review by hotel critic
As a surf instructor from Milan who's accustomed to seeking out the best spots, my recent gourmet getaway at this historic Lisbon hotel was a delightful surprise. Upon entering the elegantly restored property, I was immediately captivated by the grandeur of the place. The staff, especially Rita and Manuel, went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. One of the most memorable experiences was dining at the oriental Casa do Lago, where the seasonal menu tantalized my taste buds. The Allegro Bar, with its live piano in the evenings, offered a sophisticated ambiance to enjoy cocktails and light meals. But the real highlight was breakfast in the exotic garden, overlooking the stunning palace-truly a feast for the eyes.Although the hotel doesn't boast the original palace rooms, the modern wings offer exceptional comfort. Despite the bustling breakfast crowd, the service remained impeccable. As a food enthusiast, the proximity to Valle Flôr restaurant and other local eateries was a bonus. If you appreciate culinary innovation and refined ambiance, this hotel is a must-visit. I'll definitely be returning for another taste of Lisbon's gourmet scene.
